Valet Hero supports both outside valet trash operators and property teams that want to run service with their own staff. The software model is the same: schedule the work, assign the people, record proof, review exceptions, and give managers a clean service record.
What changes for an in-house team
- The property is the operator. Your maintenance, porter, or on-site team performs the service instead of a third-party vendor.
- Communities become your operating units. Each managed property has its own units, service days, team assignments, violations and reports.
- The property manager portal becomes internal visibility. Managers can review service history and violations without chasing screenshots or waiting for a monthly PDF.
- Billing follows units and selected modules, not vendor markup. Internal teams use Valet Hero to control labor, proof and communication while keeping the margin that would otherwise go to an outside provider.
Recommended setup
- Choose Communities during onboarding when service happens inside apartment or managed properties.
- Add each property as a community, then import its unit list from the rent roll.
- Add the internal staff who will perform service as collection specialists.
- Assign staff to each property's service days from the community profile or Schedule page.
- Turn on the photo and violation workflows you actually need for accountability.
- Set up automated reports so regional and property managers receive the service record without manual work.
When to use routes too
If your team also handles curbside, bulk pickup, commercial stops, or non-property addresses, enable Routes as well. Communities handle unit-based property service; Routes handle address-based work.
